Vision Zambia 2008

…. And beyond

Introduction:

Most of us can point to some specific time and say, “that was the turning point in my life”. When we think of turning points, it certainly feels like a horrible fog in one’s life is cleared just long enough for a shining of hope to penetrate one’s whole life. Christ said, “I came that you may have life and have it in abundance”. To some people this does not apply so much. The abundance is not understood and lived! We need to demonstrate a gospel of compassion and love to a people dying of the many ills of society, and epidemics that have culminated among a people with less or no power to help themselves. What would Christ do to such a people!?

Only you and I can help make this a reality to a people lacking in many areas. God wants to have His love felt and shared by all peoples of the earth. Many of [our] the African people are lacking in many areas and are seeking a time and chance when they could be empowered to maximize their potential, and helped to get hold of their God ordained Destiny and possibilities. We are anointed to Preach, Teach, Heal and to Deliver. Our mission is to the whole man! Justine & Ken

About the Country:

Zambia is a landlocked country in central Africa, Zambia occupies an elevated plateau, flanked in the south by the Zambezi River—and Victoria Falls. There are more than 70 ethnic groups, and most of them live in Lusaka, the capital city, or in the cities of the Copperbelt—the two largest being Ndola and Kitwe, and have more than 400,000 people each. It is one of sub-Saharan Africa's most highly urbanized countries. But also ranked as one of the poorest countries in the region. Zambia has the most of the waters of Southern Africa – yet lags behind in agricultural development!

Endowed with huge copper reserves and fertile farmland, Zambia looked to the future with optimism after independence from Britain in 1964.

But copper prices plummeted in the mid-1970s, and transport costs soared. The economy has been in decline ever since, and copper; vital to Zambia's economy, suffers from declining prices. Farming will become increasingly important; only a fifth [15%] of the arable land [60 million Hectares] is cultivated.

Thundering Victoria Falls and other power sources bring self-sufficiency in hydroelectricity. More than 70% of Zambians live in poverty, and unemployment is a serious problem. Zambia depends on copper for most of its foreign earnings so the economy suffers when copper prices decline.

HIV/AIDS is blamed for decimating the cream of Zambian professionals, including engineers and political leaders. It kills around 100,000 people each year.

Our Philosophy

We are sent to make a change in a troubled world and give a chance to those who are deprived and need a hand to get back to life’s prime directive. We believe in everybody’s God given/inherent potential to affect and change his or her world and destiny.

Better health of the mind, souls, body and spirit leads to reduced ignorance, illiteracy, poverty, dependence and makes one to be more self sufficient.

We strive to be the best at what we do and believe that communities that we operate in could be better because we are there to help them realize their inherent potential to change and affect their destiny.

We believe in ministering through the church world wide, because the church touches the needs of the people in the community. The Local church also restores the biblical family pattern and the fellowship pattern of Acts of the Apostles.

The Vision:

1. To see the manifest glory of God's presence break through and increase in churches in every city, village and town of the nations of Africa where we will go.

2. To see the passion of believers for God and His kingdom rekindled and fanned into flames.

3. A greater impact by the church on the community and culture. A harvest of the lost, which will be drawn to the light of God's glory.

4. To see lives [in Zambia] transformed / changed by the power of God.

5. To see the people of Zambia empowered to minister to the needs of their communities, helping the orphaned and vulnerable children and having a voice of change within the nation.

This involves;

? Preaching the un-compromised Gospel of Christ in the hope of bringing salvation to the lost, baptizing them in the name of the father, the Son and of the Holy Ghost; as in the great commission Mathew 28:20the gospel to see many saved.

? Bringing healing and deliverance to the whole man body, soul and spirit.

? Assisting the needy and vulnerable in society, pointing them to the Cross and the love of Christ.

? Putting up music concerts for the young people of Zambia and sharing Jesus with them. [We hope to see a youth band from Canada come along each year.]

? Reaching the children of Zambia through skits, drama, games, puppet shows and more. This will be done in schools, churches and public stadiums.

? It is teaching on practical matters such as business to help them become self sufficient.

? It is helping orphanages to become self sufficient and empowered to do more for the communities.

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1-3
